This application is provided for the private use of the household that runs it and the people it invites. Using it means accepting what follows.
A record of shares owned, and a calculation of the capital gains arising when they are sold. It keeps track of holdings across several income-tax files and works out the tax position on a first-in-first-out basis, as the Income-tax Act requires for listed equity.
It is not advice. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything, and no figure in it should be treated as one. Prices, targets and alerts are conveniences for somebody who has already decided what they want to watch.
It does not trade. No order can be placed from it; trading happens in the broker's own account and is recorded here afterwards.
It is not a substitute for a chartered accountant. The tax computation follows the Act as carefully as it can, and it is checked against the brokers' own statements — but the return is filed by a person who is responsible for it, and the figures should be confirmed before filing.
The figures are only as good as what has been entered and imported. Prices come from public market data and can be delayed, wrong, or missing for a delisted or thinly traded scrip. Every change to a holding is recorded in the app's own history, so a figure that looks wrong can be traced back to how it came to be.
Accounts are created by invitation. Each person is responsible for their own sign-in, and for not sharing it. An account can be removed by whoever manages the family group.
The application is provided as it is, without warranty. It is not liable for losses arising from investment decisions, from tax positions taken on its figures, or from any failure of the service.
